Lisbon Lions PREDA Charity Weekend (Galway) August 7th 2010
PREDA Galway and County Galway based Celtic supporters club Buachailli Corafinne are delighted to announce the visit to Galway of Lisbon Lion legends John Fallon and Charlie Gallagher on Saturday August the 7th. The event is being sponsored by The Western Hotel, Prospect Hill, Galway – the home of PREDA Galway (www.thewestern.ie). There is some limited availability for accommodation on the night of the 7th so contact reception for further details on 091-562834.
PREDA was founded by 2009 Meteor Humanitarian of the Year, Fr. Shay Cullen. The charity strives to free children from adult prisons and child prostitution in the Philippines
Buachailli Corafinne have supported a number of charities in the past in the true Celtic spirit helping to raise funds for the paediatric unit in University College Hospital Galway, PREDA as well as for the Jimmy Johnstone Motor Neurone Fund (see attached photo). The supporters club is lead by Mike Nolan and Barry O'Loughlin as treasurer.
Monroes Tavern, Celtic HQ in Galway will be hosting a “Lions Lunch” where Hoops fans can chat and greet these true legends of the game at 2pm in Monroe's.
To finish off the “Lisbon Lions Day” The Western Hotel will be hosting a tribute night to the Lions showing clips from their European Cup win on the 25th of May 1967 in Lisbon followed by a Q&A session with “The Bhoys”. The evening will be start at 8pm. Finger food will be included in the ticket price and the always energetic and powerful “Celtic Storm” will take to the stage for a night of celebration to kick start the new season while honouring those who made Celtic what it is today.
Tickets for “A Night with the Lions” in The Western Hotel followed by “Celtic Storm” till late are 15 euro with all profits going to help the children being rescued by PREDA and can be purchased from reception at The Western on 091-562834.
